Pre & Post Partum Journey

Pregnancy & the months after it can change your body enormously.  Training through it should feel safe, informed & completely un-rushed.

What this looks like

Through pregnancy we adapt your programme trimester by trimester, keeping you strong & comfortable while respecting how you're feeling week to week. Postnatally we rebuild from the core & pelvic floor outwards, at your pace & around a newborn's schedule.  At home or at the gym you can feel supported and safe at all times.

There's no pressure to 'bounce back'. The goal is a body that feels capable & supported  able to lift a car seat, push a pram uphill & get back to the training you love when you're ready.

What's included

  • Trimester-by-trimester pregnancy programming
  • Core & pelvic floor led postnatal rebuild
  • Sessions that are tailored to your body and symptoms, sleep & recovery
  • Zero pressure, zero judgement about timelines

Brilliant PT Derbyshire/Staffs area!

I've been working with Emma for about 6 months now & I'm so happy I made the decision to invest in myself & my health! Emma is brilliant - experienced, organised & has been able to tailor our sessions to my every need. I've then transitioned into training whilst pregnant & Emma is the absolute professional & has guided me brilliantly throughout how this impacts me & my training. It feels like I'm going to the gym with a friend who will push me & empower me to be better!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to exercise while pregnant?

For most pregnancies, yes — with the right adaptations. Your programme changes trimester by trimester, and we always work within the guidance from your midwife or consultant. Safety leads every decision.

When can I start training again after having my baby?

Usually after your postnatal check & once you feel ready — there's no fixed date. We start gently with breathing, core & pelvic floor work, and only build up when your body tells us it's time.

What if I have diastasis recti or pelvic floor issues?

These are extremely common & nothing to be embarrassed about. Your programme is built around them from day one, and where needed I'll signpost you to a women's health physio alongside our work together.

How do sessions fit around a newborn?

Flexibly. Sessions & plans are shaped around feeding, naps & broken sleep — some weeks that's a full session, some weeks it's twenty minutes at home. Both count, and both move you forward.

Got a question that's not answered here? Just ask — there's no such thing as a silly question.
